“Caterpillar, caterpillar …

October 14, 2010

… creeping along to slowly.

Caterpillar, caterpillar, on the ground so lonely.

In your silky bed so tight, sleeping all through winter’s night.

Come the spring, find your wings, up in the sky, a beautiful, beautiful butterfly.”

Parents and children are meeting again in the lovely house of our host Pamela for the weekly playgroup. I wish to thank her for offering her space and time so graciously! It’s been wonderful to have your support and company, Pamela!

A few new faces have come over today all of which were a real treat! It’s heart-warming to hear people meet and especially praise the bread we bake each week! For me this is always a nourishing timeout from planning the kindergarten, as I see what I am putting all my energy in for.

Also nourishing and enlivening was our 2 weeks holiday in New Zealand. By now I have many ties with schools and kindergartens there. We also passed by the Steiner Education College (Taruna) where I studied lastr year and believe me, I drowned in the library! Luckily my family gave me a limited time there only as I could have slept there! I was able to introduce one of our playgroup mums to the college. I am so grateful to my teachers, Maria and Brian, who have shown me that diligent planning around the transformational power of learning have such deep effect of how we love or despise learning.

So what is happening next? House hunting! Wish us luck in finding a house for our kindergarten which in our ideal world would be near the sea and a park, has 3 large rooms and is an airy spot with a huge garden and no mosquitoes. And the rent is super low! Hear us you landlords and landladies?

May we find that beautiful silky bed to host our children in their early years, so that they may fly away cherishing the world and loving school.
